ACCA-UK

ACCA is the largest and fastest-growing global professional accountancy body in the world, with over 493,500 members and students in 170 countries. ACCA has an extensive network of almost 80 staffed offices and other centres around the world.

The ACCA Members, who are known as Chartered Certified Accountants, are employed in industry, financial services, the public sector, or in public practice. With statutory recognition in the UK and Ireland the ACCA body has the authority to license their members to work as registered auditors. In the UK, the ACCA body also authorises its members to undertake insolvency work. Outside the UK, they are recognised under the EU's Mutual Recognition Directive and in many countries around the world.

This qualification will help students reach the highest levels in accounting and finance.

ACCA will help your career progress in any organisation. It's an established route to professional status - allowing you to use the 'ACCA' letters after your name on successful completion. Globally, employers will understand and respect your qualification. You will be in demand for your finance and accounting knowledge and skills worldwide, regardless of employment sector. ACCA can offer you various entry points onto its qualification, depending on your age and previous academic qualifications.

Within the ACCA Qualification there is a strong focus on professional values, ethics and governance - skills which are essential as the accountancy profession moves towards strengthened codes of conduct, regulation and legislation with an increasing focus on professionalism and ethics in accounting. As part of your ethical development towards ACCA membership, you will be required to complete a Professional Ethics module in addition to passing 14 exams (nine of which are eligible for exemption) and three-years' relevant practical experience.

Oxford Brooks Degree

After passing first 9 Papers of ACCA, you are eligible for B. Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Accountancy from Oxford Brooks University (UK); Students don’t have to pass any extra papers. They only have to write a ‘Research-based Thesis’ of almost 6,500 words.

CFE has provided mentor services to the numerous students and helped them obtain this qualification.

| EXAMINATION RULES |

bullet
Students can appear in maximum of four papers in the following six monthly periods; 1st August to 31st January and 1st February to 31st July.
 
bullet Out of the total 14 papers, F1, F2 and F3 can be attempted either manually (in June/ December) or can be taken as Computer Based Examinations (CBE) at the approved CBE centers at the time of mutual convenience.
bullet Students are expected to study each module – Knowledge, Skills, Essentials and Options–in order. Papers may be attempted from different modules at the same sitting as long as the modules are attempted in order. Students may vary the order of the exams they take within each module but they may not vary the order of the modules. However, ACCA strongly recommends that papers within a module are taken in order.
bullet The pass rate is 50% in all the levels of ACCA.
bullet All students will have 10 years to complete the examinations from the date of their student registration.

| EXAM FORMAT |

Knowledge module exams will be two-hours long. These will be available both as computer-based exams (CBE) and also as traditional paper-based exams. Skills module exams and all Professional level exams will be three-hours long and will make use of a range of assessment methods such as short-answer questions, extended computational exercises, essays, scenarios and case studies.

| EXTRA READING TIME |

15 minutes extra reading time will be allowed at the start of each exam.

| COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATIONS |

Computer Based Examinations (CBE) is held almost every month for Paper F1, F2 and F3. The exact amount of CBE fee can be enquired from the Admissions Office.
